Q: How is Nuts and Bolts hosting different from other hosts?

There are plenty of web hosts out there, many of which are far larger than Nuts and Bolts. However, a bigger company can often result in less than stellar service.

At Nuts and Bolts Media, you aren’t just a number. You’re a valued customer whose questions and service tickets will receive a fast, personalized response. And unlike larger hosts that force you to share space with thousands of other websites, our hosting is for our clients only.

Q: Does your hosting use cPanel?

Yes! Our servers are Linux-based and located in Dallas, Texas. We utilize the same cPanel you might see on hosts such as HostGator, BlueHost, and HostMonster, to name a few.

Q: How fast will my site load on your servers?

Most sites will actually experience faster load times on our servers. With typical shared hosting through companies like Hostgator or Bluehost, you are sharing server space with thousands of other websites. If one of them experiences unusually high traffic, your site could slow down or even crash. When you host with us, you’re only sharing server space with other Nuts and Bolts Hosting clients, meaning there is plenty of bandwidth to go around.

Q: Why don’t you offer unlimited hosting plans?
No host can offer truly unlimited plans because servers have a finite amount of available space and bandwidth. That said, many hosts use the word “unlimited” to mean that your space will be increased as needed to accommodate your files and traffic. In that sense, our hosting plans are unlimited - as long as your plan is appropriate for the number of sites you have, we will increase your disk storage or bandwidth to ensure that you never run out. If you have questions about storage or bandwidth, please contact us.
Q: How much does it cost to move my existing site?
New Nuts and Bolts Hosting customers get free migrations of all their existing self-hosted WordPress websites. Websites on a different platform can be migrated for a one-time fee. Once you sign up for an account, just let us know that you need a site moved and we can get it migrated very quickly.
Q: What if I decide to go to another host later?
You’re welcome to move your site at any time. Customers who wish to cancel their service will receive a prorated refund based on the plan chosen and account balance. If there is a problem with your service, we hope you will contact us and give us a chance to correct the issue. Your satisfaction is very important to us!
Q: Do I have to transfer my domain(s)?
You’re welcome to transfer your existing domain(s) to us if you’d like, but you don’t have to. Once you’ve signed up for a hosting account, you can simply update your nameservers to ns1.nutsandboltsmedia.com and ns2.nutsandboltsmedia.com instead of transferring the domains. If you need assistance with this, please submit a support ticket and we’ll be happy to make those changes for you.
