At Nuts and Bolts Media, we believe there is no platform better than self-hosted WordPress. “Self-hosted” means that you are the owner of your content and are not subject to any terms of service other than those of your web host. You also have complete control over the look, feel, and functionality of your site without the limits of other platforms.
If your site is hosted on Blogger, WordPress.com, Tumblr, or other free platforms, your content is technically owned by the service provider. At any time, your posts, photos, comments, or even your entire site could be deleted if your provider believes you have violated one of its rules. (It happens more often than you think!)
Switching to a new platform can be overwhelming, but we do everything we can to take the guesswork out of the process. We offer a number of migration options to get you moved to self-hosted WordPress, whether you host with us or another hosting company.
Basic Migration
The basic migration starts at $150 (or $125 for Nuts and Bolts Hosting customers) and includes the following:
- Transfer of all posts and comments
- Installation of WordPress and the Twenty Twelve theme
- Redirection of your old site to the new one (dependent on platform)

- Transfer of all posts, comments, images, and pages

- Installation of basic plugins

The ultimate migration starts at $450 (or $400 for Nuts and Bolts Hosting customers) and includes the following:
- Transfer of all posts, comments, images, pages, and sidebars
- Installation of WordPress and a premium theme
- Recreation of your current design (as closely as possible)
- Redirection of your old site to the new one (dependent on platform)
- Installation of basic plugins

Host to Host Transfers
Unhappy with your current web host and ready to move elsewhere? Nuts and Bolts Media can move your existing self-hosted site in a matter of a few hours!
All rates include transfer of up to 4 sites - please contact us if you have additional sites that need to be migrated.
Available options include:
- cPanel to cPanel migration: $150
- cPanel to cPanel migration for Nuts and Bolts Hosting customers: FREE
- Migration Away from GoDaddy, Dreamhost, or 1and1: $200 (Higher cost is due to the difficulty of moving files via non-cPanel systems.)
